As a Solo Creator, you need to be the creator and distributor, i.e., the writer and the marketer. You need to be aware of new trends in marketing, acquisition channels, and where your audience spends their online time.
I joined Clubhouse a couple of months ago. I do not have an iPhone. However, I did manage to join through a friend’s invitation and an iPad. I didn’t infrequently log as I do not carry my iPad all day long. Recently Clubhouse launched on Android, do now I might use the app more frequently.
For those who do not know what it is, Clubhouse. Clubhouse is an audio chat social network where people create and join chat rooms to discuss different topics. A chat room has a moderator or more who invites people to speak. People may raise a hand to ask for the mic.
It’s like a live radio 24/7.
Trying a new social network is very intriguing to me. I tried many and ditched many.
One of the best advice that I know but do not implement is not to thin yourself out. Being on one or two social networks is much more effective and genuine than many.
My main focus is on Twitter, where my account is verified and has the largest following, currently more than 14k. However, I share my writings, newsletters, podcast episodes, etc.. on Facebook, Linkedin, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter.
I have always loved the audio medium; it’s more intimate to listen to than watching a video, especially if you are listening through a headphone.
I have launched an Arabic podcast in 2017 and surpassed the 10 episode mark, which many producers usually do not pass. However, I stopped for several reasons: the hard work behind preparing, recording, and editing.
Recently I launched another podcast. The Life & Work Podcast. Every week I publish an episode that includes one idea on how to make better decisions in life and work. I use anchor.fm to convert some of my modified articles into an audio format. The technology used is sophisticated that you might not notice that the podcast host is just an AI machine.
